Mainard Rederra Winn, a 62-year-old man, was fatally shot on the morning of June 27, 2026, at a residence on Hattie Bell Tatum Road near Mount Olive, Mississippi. At approximately 10:36 a.m., the Simpson County Sheriff's Office received a report of shots being fired at 109 Hattie Bell Tatum Road. Deputies hurried to the property and discovered Winn suffering from a gunshot wound.

Investigators encountered Alywin Darrell Durr at the scene. Durr did not flee and was taken into custody without incident. Authorities subsequently identified Durr as Winn's brother and reported that the two men lived on the same property.
