Joshua Quarles, a 31-year-old man, died after a shooting inside a Kansas City, Missouri, apartment on May 26, 2026. The case began late that Tuesday night, around 9:45 p.m., when Kansas City police were called to an apartment in the 9300 block of Newton Avenue for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they were led inside the apartment building to a unit where they found Quarles unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
