On a Sunday evening in Cordova, Tennessee, the life of 28-year-old Latrell Green was tragically cut short. On June 7, 2026, a shooting broke out in the 7100 block of Anisetree Drive just after 9 p.m. When Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the scene, they found multiple shell casings, but the victims were already gone. Green and two other men had been taken to Methodist North Hospital in a private vehicle. Due to the severity of his injuries, Green was transferred to Regional One Health in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries two days later, on Tuesday, June 9. The two other men who were injured in the incident were reported to be recovering.

The investigation into the shooting quickly led to suspects. In the early morning hours of Monday, June 8, detectives with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the same house where the shooting had been reported. The search resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old Jeremiah White and a 15-year-old juvenile. Both teenagers were charged with a string of serious offenses, including first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and especially aggravated robbery. Their charges also included two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, three counts of employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, and tampering with evidence.

Further details about the motive behind the deadly encounter emerged from the investigation. According to the Memphis Safe Task Force, one of the surviving victims told officers that he had driven the other two victims to the Anisetree Drive residence to sell marijuana to Jeremiah White. The victim reported that after their arrival, White got into their vehicle and they all went to a store. Upon returning to the house, White went inside to get money. He then came back out with the 15-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was allegedly armed with an AR pistol and ordered the victims not to move, while White reportedly brandished a semi-automatic firearm from a backpack and also pointed it at them. Multiple shots were then fired at the victims as they tried to drive away. A search of the residence after the suspects were taken into custody led to the recovery of one of the firearms and other evidence. The investigation into the death of Latrell Green remains ongoing, with the two young suspects facing the judicial process for their alleged roles in the fatal shooting. There is currently no publicly available information about any trial, conviction, or sentencing in this case.
