The investigation into Brannon Briggs' death led to several arrests in the days that followed. Initially, 18-year-old Brayren Briscoe was taken into custody, but murder charges against him were soon dropped as new evidence emerged. The focus of the investigation then shifted to two other teenagers, 18-year-old Jean Harrell and 18-year-old Demarion Smith.
