Bradison Allen Mims Sr., a 29-year-old man from Beaumont, Texas, tragically passed away on October 16, 2018. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds near a sidewalk on North Street in Beaumont. The investigation into Bradison Mims' death led to the arrest of Herbert Wayne Collins, a 40-year-old Beaumont man.
Collins was a friend of Mims and was arrested two days after the shooting. Witnesses reported that Collins used an AK-47-style rifle to shoot Mims more than 20 times, including twice in the head while Mims was on the ground pleading for his life.
In November 2019, Herbert Collins was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. The jury deliberated for less than an hour before reaching their verdict.
