In the spring of 2026, the life of 17-year-old Javon Townsend of Michigan City, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On the night of Saturday, May 9th, what should have been a time of celebration for Michigan City High School students turned into a scene of violence and loss. Townsend was attending a post-prom gathering at a short-term rental property in the 1700 block of Liberty Avenue in Pine Township, near the Porter and LaPorte County border.
