In the early morning hours of Friday, May 15, 2026, the life of 37-year-old Demareo Whitley was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on Weldon Avenue in Charlotte, North Carolina. The shooting, which occurred at approximately 1:56 a.m., left another individual wounded. Emergency services, upon their arrival, pronounced Whitley deceased at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
