In the early morning hours of March 26, 2026, the life of 35-year-old Alisha Shanell Lewis, a Black / African American female, was tragically cut short in her Charlotte, North Carolina apartment. Responding to a call just before 9:30 a.m., officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrived at the 3100 block of High Glen Drive, off West W.T. Harris Boulevard, to find a grim scene.
Lewis had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
The investigation into her death quickly determined that the fatal shots were fired into her home from outside. Neighbors reported hearing gunfire the previous evening, though the tragic outcome was not discovered until the following morning when a neighbor found the scene and alerted the authorities.
