In the pre-dawn hours of Friday, March 27, 2026, the life of 17-year-old Jair Salinas, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in Chicago's Montclare neighborhood on the Northwest Side. Responding to a call of a person down shortly before 1:00 a.m. in the 6700 block of West Grand Avenue, Chicago police officers discovered Salinas unresponsive on the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
