Jane Main was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alongside her was 63-year-old James Main, who had also sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The initial findings of the police investigation pointed towards a murder-suicide. Detectives believe that James Main shot and killed Jane Main before turning the weapon on himself.
The investigation into the specific events that culminated in this tragedy is still ongoing, as authorities work to understand the circumstances that led to the violence. The final determination of the causes of death will be made by the Medical Examiner following the completion of autopsies.
