In a tragic turn of events on the night of March 30, 2026, Kaylene Allred, a 61-year-old White / Caucasian woman from the Salt Lake City area, lost her life in a violent domestic incident. The distressing events unfolded at her home in Kearns, Utah, where a heated argument between her husband and her adult son escalated with deadly consequences. Kaylene had the presence of mind to call 911 at 10:27 p.m., reporting the physical altercation and noting that drugs and alcohol were involved.
She informed the dispatcher that a weapon in the house was locked up, but the situation rapidly deteriorated.
Just five minutes into the call, the 911 dispatcher heard the chilling sound of gunshots, and Kaylene confirmed that people in her home had been shot. Soon after, more shots were heard, and Kaylene stopped responding. The suspect was identified as her 64-year-old husband, Floyd Allred. In a horrific act of violence, Floyd shot and killed his wife, and also shot and seriously injured her two adult children, Christian and Brittany Timothy. After shooting his wife and stepchildren, Floyd Allred turned the gun on himself, ending his own life in a murder-suicide.
When law enforcement officers from multiple agencies arrived at the scene, they first encountered Kaylene's son, Christian, who had managed to exit the house despite his injuries. His sister, Brittany, came out two minutes later. Both were transported to a local hospital in serious condition but were later reported to be stable. Upon entering the residence, police discovered the bodies of Kaylene and Floyd Allred.
