In a quiet Liberty Township neighborhood, a grim discovery was made on April 1, 2026, that left neighbors in shock. Claire Olmsted Buckley, a 72-year-old woman, was found deceased in her home on Hidden Oaks Lane. Her death was the result of a gunshot wound and has been ruled a homicide by the Butler County Coroner's Office. Alongside her, authorities also found her husband, 70-year-old Frederick Buckley, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple was discovered by deputies
from the Butler County Sheriff's Office after their son-in-law requested a welfare check, having not heard from them for several days. Upon entering the residence, law enforcement found Claire on the couch and Frederick on the living room floor. A dog was also found deceased in the living room. Investigators have determined the incident to be a murder-suicide.
