In a quiet San Antonio neighborhood, the life of 54-year-old Daniel Antonio Ordonez came to a tragic and unsettling end in April of 2026. A man described by his neighbors as friendly, deeply religious, and a dedicated church volunteer, Ordonez's sudden disappearance raised alarm among his loved ones, prompting a welfare check that would unravel a grim series of events.
His body was discovered on April 12, 2026, concealed within a bloody trash bag in a structure behind the Vera Cruz Street home he shared with his son and daughter-in-law. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office would later determine that he had died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling his death a homicide.
The investigation into Ordonez's death quickly focused on his own family. His 31-year-old son, Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, and his 36-year-old daughter-in-law, Alyssa Herrera, were both arrested in connection with the case.
