In the early morning hours of April 19, 2026, the life of 10-year-old Markaydon Pugh was tragically cut short in a horrific act of domestic violence that shook the city of Shreveport, Louisiana. The young boy was one of eight children fatally shot by 31-year-old Shamar Elkins in the Cedar Grove neighborhood. The devastating event stemmed from a domestic dispute between Elkins and his wife, Shaneiqua Pugh, at a residence on West 79th Street.
