In the early hours of a cold winter morning in Buffalo, New York, a violent home invasion tragically cut short the life of Kevin J. Carter. On December 18, 2007, the 28-year-old African-American man was in his Bailey-Delavan area home on Navel Avenue when two armed assailants forcibly entered at approximately 12:30 a.m. The intruders demanded money, and in the ensuing confrontation, Carter was shot.
