A late-night visit to a new acquaintance's apartment in Antioch, Tennessee, tragically ended the life of 28-year-old Terry Coleman on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The fatal encounter unfolded just after 12:30 a.m. inside an apartment on Harper Ridge Place. Coleman was visiting a woman he had recently met when an argument erupted between him and another man, identified as 23-year-old Jordan Jackson.
The altercation, which began in the parking lot, escalated and moved inside the apartment.
There, in the presence of the woman and her children, Jackson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Coleman multiple times. Coleman succumbed to his injuries at the scene. In the moments leading up to the shooting, Coleman's mother and sister had been on the phone with him and grew alarmed after a series of what they believed to be pocket dials, during which they overheard distressing sounds. His mother, Kim Coleman, was so concerned that she drove to the apartment complex, only to discover that her son had been killed.
Following the shooting, a criminal homicide warrant was issued for Jordan Jackson. An investigation led by the Metro Nashville Police Department, in coordination with the Knoxville Police Department, tracked Jackson to a residence in East Knoxville. He was taken into custody later that same day with the assistance of the KPD's Special Operations Squad and crisis negotiators.
Jordan Jackson was subsequently charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence. He was booked into the Davidson County Detention Center and is being held on a $510,000 bond. The investigation remains active as authorities review witness statements and phone recordings provided by Coleman's family. While a motive has not been officially released, it is reported that Jackson is the father of the woman's children whom Coleman was visiting.
