A festive quinceañera in Longview, Washington, took a tragic turn, ending in the deaths of two men and the arrest of a suspect. On the night of April 11, 2026, 30-year-old Sergio Adrian Segundo was shot and killed in the parking lot of the AWPPW Hall on 15th Avenue. Another man, Cristian Segundo Garcia, age 21, was also killed in the incident. The two were cousins who were in the United States on work visas, picking apples in Kennewick to support their families in Mexico.
They had traveled to Longview to attend the celebration where approximately 200 people were gathered.
The celebration turned violent after what witnesses described as perceived flirting. An argument erupted, leading to the shooting in the parking lot. Longview Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at about 10:45 p.m. following reports of the shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered both Segundo and Garcia with critical gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, both men died at the scene.
Law enforcement identified a suspect vehicle leaving the area and a pursuit was initiated. The chase went through West Longview before circling back. During the pursuit, the suspect reportedly threw a semiautomatic handgun from the vehicle, which was later recovered by officers. The chase concluded back at the AWPPW Hall parking lot, where the driver abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief chase, he was apprehended.
The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Andres Carrasco-Sanchez of Kelso. He was arrested and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder. Carrasco-Sanchez made his initial court appearance on Monday, April 13, 2026. He is being held without bond and his next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday. Sergio Adrian Segundo is survived by a wife and two daughters. A GoFundMe was created to help the families with the expenses of returning both men's bodies to Mexico.
