In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 12, 2026, the life of 29-year-old Levon Livingston of Southeast, D.C. was tragically cut short. At approximately 5:01 a.m., officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment building in the 1200 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast. Upon their arrival, they discovered Livingston inside a hallway, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate response and all lifesaving efforts of the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel who arrived at the scene, Levon Livingston was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation into the shooting pointed towards a domestic-related incident.
The investigation progressed swiftly, and by the following day, a suspect was identified.
On Monday, April 13, 2026, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Prince George's County Police Department, located and arrested 26-year-old Niko Lancaster of Oxon Hill, Maryland. The arrest was made pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, and Lancaster has been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with Livingston's death.
