In the early hours of a Monday morning, the quiet of a Chapin, South Carolina apartment complex was shattered by the sound of gunshots. On February 23, 2026, the body of 43-year-old Raynard Brewington was discovered in the parking lot of his apartment building on Lake Murray Boulevard. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department responded to 911 calls from residents who reported hearing what they believed to be gunfire.
