In the early morning hours of February 28, 2026, the life of 26-year-old Malaysha Thomas was tragically cut short in her Akron, Ohio, apartment. Police responded to reports of a shooting at her residence on the 400 block of South Maple Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Thomas inside her apartment with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
