On August 4, 2010, Gwendolyn Hoisten, aged 48, was fatally shot in Akron, Ohio. The incident occurred around 9:00 PM at her home located on White Street in Akron's Summit County. Reports indicate that Hoisten was at her residence when unknown individuals knocked on her door. After she opened the door and stepped out onto her front porch, she was shot by the unknown assailant(s) and later rushed to Akron General Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
