In a heartbreaking turn of events on the evening of March 2, 2026, the life of 1-year-old Nhalani Hiner was tragically cut short in Las Vegas, Nevada. The young girl was in the care of her mother's friend, 20-year-old Danaijha Robinson, when they were both fatally shot while sitting in a parked SUV. According to reports, Robinson was with Nhalani in the vehicle while the girl's
mother was nearby, engaged in a conversation with a police officer during a traffic stop. It was during this time that a man, later identified as 22-year-old Ziaire Ham, approached the parked vehicle. Authorities believe that Ham, who was reportedly upset after an argument with his own family, randomly targeted the vehicle. He allegedly fired multiple shots into the car, striking both Nhalani and Robinson.
Following the shooting, Ham fled the scene. A multi-state manhunt ensued, which concluded with his arrest in Ogden, Utah, on March 3rd. During his arrest on unrelated charges, Ham reportedly told investigators that he needed to speak with detectives from Las Vegas.
