On June 7, 2018, Patricia Jones, a Black/African American female, was found deceased in her apartment in Las Vegas, Nevada. A maintenance worker at her apartment complex on the 5500 block of Lake Mead Boulevard discovered her body and immediately alerted the police. Jones had been shot in the head. The investigation into her death quickly uncovered details about her personal life that would lead to a suspect.
