In the fading daylight of a Sunday evening on San Antonio's West Side, a life was abruptly cut short. Justice Xavier Hansel Lee, a 25-year-old man, was fatally shot on March 8, 2026, following a disturbance involving several people. The incident unfolded around 6 p.m. in the 8600 block of Waters Edge Drive, near Loop 410 and Marbach Road, at the Cable Ranch Apartments.
When the sound of gunfire dissipated, Lee was left with a fatal wound to his upper body.
Responding officers discovered Lee at the scene, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity and ruled his death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds. A second man was also shot during the altercation but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The San Antonio Police Department cordoned off a large area of the apartment complex, with crime scene tape visible on light poles and railings as they began their investigation into the city's 14th murder of the year. As of now, authorities have not identified any suspects in the shooting, and no arrests have been made as they continue to investigate the case as a murder.
