Abelardo Duran, a 26-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, was tragically killed on October 3, 2008. The incident occurred at Northeast Lakeview College, where Duran was shot by a colleague, Alan Godin, who worked as a librarian at the same community college. The two had a history of workplace disputes, which ultimately culminated in the fatal shooting. Godin, aged 64 at the time of trial, was found guilty of the murder and faced up to life in prison.
