In the early evening of Monday, March 9, 2026, the life of 31-year-old Terrance Lavelle Crutchfield was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 6:27 p.m. in the 5000 and 5300 blocks of E Street, Southeast.
Responding to a report of a shooting, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District arrived at the scene to find Mr. Crutchfield unconscious and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response and life-saving efforts of D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel, he was pronounced dead at the location.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the shooting as a homicide and has not yet released information regarding any potential suspects or a possible motive.
