In the rural community of Water Valley, Kentucky, the life of Daniel Ray Jaco, a 49-year-old Caucasian male from Clinton, was brought to a sudden and violent end on Friday, February 6, 2026. The events of that morning unfolded at a chicken barn on Kingston Road, where a dispute between Jaco and another man escalated with fatal consequences.
According to accounts from the Graves County Sheriff's Office, a physical altercation occurred between Jaco and 40-year-old Stanley K. Napier Jr.
of Water Valley. Witnesses reported that after the initial fight concluded, Napier left the chicken barn, only to return shortly after armed with a handgun. It was then that Napier allegedly shot Jaco, inflicting a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities were dispatched to the scene around 8:15 a.m. following reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jaco deceased inside the residence.
The investigation into Jaco's death proceeded quickly. Law enforcement officials, including sheriff's detectives and Kentucky State Police, spent the day collecting evidence and interviewing those with knowledge of the incident.
