In the quiet neighborhood of Greenfield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the life of a 26-year-old Black / African American woman, Charlee Lurae Lee Martin, was tragically cut short in early February of 2026. Concerns for her well-being arose after she had not been seen at her job since February 3rd. These concerns prompted multiple requests for welfare checks at the apartment she shared with her brother on Montclair Street over the weekend.
After several unsuccessful attempts to make contact, police forced entry into the residence on Sunday, February 8th.
Inside the apartment, a grim discovery was made. Charlee Martin was found deceased on the floor, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. It was determined that she had been dead for several days. Also present in the apartment was her 27-year-old brother, Aaron Charles Martin. He was found in a bedroom and was taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers.
The investigation into Charlee's death quickly focused on her brother. Initially, Aaron Martin was charged with assault of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. However, following an interview with detectives, he confessed to killing his sister. The charges against him were then updated to include criminal homicide, firearms violations, and abuse of a corpse. It was reported that Aaron Martin had been struggling with his mental health and was believed to have been off his medication. He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
