In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Dayton, Ohio, the life of 33-year-old Jaime Dick, a white female, was brought to a tragic end. On February 10, 2026, police responded to a 911 call that led them to discover her body inside her still-running vehicle parked outside her residence. She had been shot multiple times.
The call to emergency services was made by her 34-year-old boyfriend, Jayme Rogers.
In the chilling audio, Rogers allegedly admitted to shooting his girlfriend three times, telling the dispatcher that she "got what she deserved" because he believed she had been unfaithful. He also reportedly indicated that he was armed and would not be taken without a fight. When officers arrived at the Queens Avenue home, Rogers approached them and reiterated that he had shot Dick.
Investigators found bullet casings on the street and sidewalk near the vehicle, and noted that the passenger side window had been shot out. Rogers was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He is facing a number of serious charges, including murder, felonious assault, possessing weapons while under disability, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. A judge set his bond at $1 million, and his next court appearance was scheduled for February 20th.
Jaime Dick was a mother of two children, a son and a daughter. Her obituary remembers her as a "loving mom, a devoted daughter, and the very best sister a family could ever ask for." It described her as "a beautiful soul in every sense of the word, inside and out, whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her."
