A dispute over a request for a ride on the morning of Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana, escalated into a burst of gunfire that left 26-year-old Javan Vonteal Myers dead and four others wounded, including a 4-year-old child. The tragic events unfolded around 11:30 a.m. at the Willow Villa apartments located off Old Baton Rouge Highway.
