In the early hours of New Year's Day 2026, a senseless act of celebratory gunfire tragically cut short the life of 44-year-old Moises Jaimes in Laredo, Texas. A devoted husband and father, Jaimes was celebrating with his family when he was struck in the head by a stray bullet. The Laredo Police Department had issued warnings against the dangerous and illegal tradition of celebratory gunfire less than 24 hours before the incident that claimed Jaimes's life on Calle Puebla.
