On the evening of April 20, 2026, 60-year-old Luis Fernando Marquez was walking on a sidewalk in Laredo, Texas, when his life was tragically cut short. An innocent bystander, Marquez was struck by a stray bullet in the 5900 block of San Bernardo Avenue at approximately 9:35 p.m. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries overnight, marking the third homicide in the city for that year.
