In the early afternoon of a Saturday in Yazoo County, Mississippi, a burst of violence shattered the calm, leaving a family and community to grapple with a tragic loss. On January 3, 2026, 33-year-old Cornelius Stuckey was shot on Longwood Cove. The Yazoo County Sheriff's Department received a call about the shooting at approximately 12:05 p.m. and deputies were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Stuckey suffering from gunshot wounds.
