In the early afternoon of Saturday, January 10, 2026, a shooting in Baton Rouge claimed the life of 16-year-old Javen Grisby. The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. near the intersection of West Brookstown Drive and Heidel Avenue. When officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department arrived at the scene in the 5800 block of Heidel Avenue, they found Grisby suffering from a gunshot wound.
