In the early morning hours of January 11, 2026, the quiet of a Baltimore neighborhood was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of a longtime resident. Derek Dangerfield, a 59-year-old Black male, was found deceased at approximately 5:10 a.m. inside a residence on the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue.
