On the early morning of Sunday, November 30, 2025, a violent double shooting occurred in the North Tryon Division of Charlotte, North Carolina, claiming the lives of two men. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon around 4:47 a.m. in the 120 block of Atando Avenue, located outside the Queen's Cabaret, an adult entertainment venue.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered 29-year-old D'andre Lamont Weaver suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by Medic to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Weaver, a Black male, was reportedly a security supervisor who had stopped by the establishment on his night off to check on his team when the incident unfolded.
The violence claimed a second life during the same chaotic event. Police found another victim, identified as 44-year-old Glenntavis McCorey, a short distance away from the club. McCorey had also sustained gunshot wounds and attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle before crashing nearby. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary reports from family members suggest the shooting stemmed from a dispute involving a patron who refused to leave the premises, which quickly escalated into gunfire.
D'andre Weaver was remembered by his family and community as a "gentle giant" and a "Mr. Positive" who was known for his calm presence and generosity. A graduate of Vance High School, he had a passion for basketball, weightlifting, and gaming. He left behind a grieving family, including his mother, stepfather, brother, and his fiancée. His brother described him as a peacemaker who always looked out for others, making the sudden and violent nature of his death particularly difficult for his loved ones to comprehend.
As of late December 2025, homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the double murder, and no arrests have been publicly announced. Detective Davis has been assigned as the lead investigator on the case, which remains active and ongoing.
