In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025, a violent double shooting occurred in the Steele Creek Division of Charlotte, North Carolina. At approximately 3:30 a.m., gunfire erupted in the 800 block of Farmhurst Drive, a residential neighborhood situated near the intersection of Interstate 77 and Nations Ford Road. Bravlio Galeano Ayala, a 16-year-old male, and 18-year-old Samir Canales Molina were both struck by bullets during this singular incident.
Following the attack, the two teenagers fled the immediate scene, traveling away from Farmhurst Drive in a desperate attempt to locate medical assistance.
The aftermath of the violence unfolded across two separate locations in the city as the victims separated. Police officers responded to a welfare check call in the 100 block of East Woodlawn Road, roughly seven miles from the initial shooting site, where they discovered one of the wounded teens suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his wounds. Around the same time, authorities were summoned to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in the 200 block of Hawthorne Lane after the second victim arrived seeking care for severe gunshot trauma. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he was also pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit subsequently linked the two deaths, confirming that both young men were wounded during the same altercation on Farmhurst Drive before fleeing. As of the latest updates provided by investigators, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the double homicide. The motive for the shooting remains undisclosed, and police continue to seek information from the public to advance the active investigation.
