On July 31, 2022, 28-year-old Ishmeal Bash was found with a gunshot wound on Wallingford Street in southwest Charlotte, North Carolina. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and discovered Bash, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The investigation into Bash's death revealed that he was shot inside a motel room at the Quality Inn on Wallingford
Street. Witnesses reported seeing several individuals entering and exiting the room before the shooting occurred. The CMPD, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation , arrested 31-year-old Terrance Derrell Lee in Las Vegas on August 5, 2022. Lee was charged with the murder of Ishmeal Bash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bash's death is ongoing. Authorities have not disclosed the motive behind the shooting or any additional details about the events leading up to the incident.
