In the winter of 2015, a Saturday afternoon stroll turned tragic for a young man from Buffalo, New York. On December 19th, 26-year-old Edgardo Ortiz, a Hispanic male, was out walking his dog, Princess, in the vicinity of Busti Avenue and Hudson Street. In an act of sudden violence, Ortiz was fatally shot. His canine companion was also struck by a bullet but ultimately survived the ordeal.
