On November 24, 2025, Gregory Carson, a 23-year-old man from Fort Pierce, Florida, was shot during the middle of the day in the parking lot of the Pine Creek Village apartment complex on the 1200 block of North 27th Street. Police received a 911 call about a gunshot victim at around 12:27 p.m. and arrived to find that an altercation involving a group of men had taken place in the lot, during which Carson was struck by gunfire.
