On August 23, 2023, 33-year-old white male Brandon Gregory Kormanec, a resident of Sebastian, Florida, was fatally shot at the Rocket Fuel gas station located at 3227 South U.S. Highway 1 in Fort Pierce. The incident occurred around 6:46 p.m., when Fort Pierce Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire.
