Death by Force

On the evening of November 26, 2025, Fayetteville police responded to reports of a shooting around 6:10 p.m. at the Motel 6 in the 3700 block of Bragg Boulevard. Officers arrived to find Perry Lamont Sykes, a 47-year-old Black male of African American ethnicity from Fayetteville, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries despite medical efforts to save him.
