Karrington Odell Locklear, a 25-year-old male described in public records as American Indian/Alaska Native, was fatally shot in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025, in a rural stretch of Robeson County just outside Maxton, North Carolina. According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at about 1:45 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 3000 block of Red Hill Road, an area of scattered homes and farmland not far from the Maxton community.
