On the evening of Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the Fairland neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland, was disrupted by violence that left one man injured and another, 20-year-old Jadyn Mekhi Brown, dead from gunshot wounds. The tragic events began to unfold at approximately 7:54 p.m., when Montgomery County Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Robey Terrace. There, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was conscious and alert, and told officers he had been shot near Aston Manor Drive before running to Robey Terrace for help. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
Following this initial incident, police began to canvass the area near Aston Manor Drive in search of a crime scene. At around 9:06 p.m., a K-9 unit made a grim discovery in the 13800 block of Aston Manor Drive: the body of Jadyn Mekhi Brown. He was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Homicide detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating Brown's death. As of late November 2025, it remained unclear whether his killing was connected to the earlier non-fatal shooting on Robey Terrace. Authorities had not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.
