Jaril Verde Murillo, a 17-year-old male, was walking with two other teens along a path toward the Foxhall Apartments in Silver Spring late on the night of August 19, 2025, when unknown assailant opened fire and ran. At approximately 11:28 p.m., officers were called to the 700 block of University Boulevard East for reports of shots and a person down; they found Jaril Verde Murillo in the roadway with at least one gunshot wound.
