In the evening quiet of November 2, 2025, the life of James Dotson Jr., a 32-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short. An off-duty Hinds County Sheriff's Sergeant, Dotson was fatally shot at a residence on Dorgan Street in Jackson, Mississippi.
