In the early morning hours of November 2, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Jackailus Groves was cut short in what Nashville police have described as a targeted murder. Groves, a male, had just returned to the Parc of Metro Center Apartments on Athens Way, the residence of his girlfriend, shortly after 3:15 a.m. He had spent part of the night at the LinQ nightclub on Lafayette Street. As he exited his white Dodge Durango, he was ambushed and fatally shot.
The assailant or assailants quickly fled the scene in a vehicle.
It wasn't until approximately 7:15 a.m. that a resident of the apartment complex discovered Groves' body. He was found on the rear patio of an apartment, partially concealed behind bushes, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives from the Metro Nashville Police Department immediately began an investigation, pursuing active leads in what they believe was a deliberate and planned attack.
Authorities have urged the public for assistance, asking anyone with information regarding Groves' activities prior to his death or any details about the suspect vehicle to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers. While the investigation is ongoing, police have not yet publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the murder of Jackailus Groves.
