In the late morning of November 3, 2025, the life of 21-year-old Daryle Bryant of Canton, Ohio, was tragically cut short. Emergency services received a 911 call around 10:30 a.m. reporting a shooting at an apartment located in the 3900 block of Tuscarawas Street W. Upon their arrival, Canton police officers discovered Bryant inside one of the apartments, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics from the Canton Fire Department quickly transported him to Aultman Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Daryle Bryant succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later. The incident was immediately treated as a homicide, and an investigation was launched to identify and apprehend the person responsible for this violent act.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting, 19-year-old Deiveon Newman of Massillon. It was reported that Newman had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. However, his time as a fugitive was brief. The day after the shooting, on Tuesday morning, Deiveon Newman surrendered to the authorities.
Following his surrender, Newman was arrested and now faces serious charges for his alleged involvement in Daryle Bryant's death. The charges brought against him include murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information regarding the case to contact the Canton Police Communications Center, the Canton Police Detective Bureau, or to provide anonymous tips through Tip411 or Stark County Crime Stoppers.
