On January 9, 2017, 46-year-old Paul Byrd was shot and killed while sitting in his car outside his home on Cornwall Avenue in Buffalo, New York. The incident occurred in the middle of the afternoon, around 4 p.m., in Buffalo's Grider-Delavan neighborhood. Byrd was struck multiple times by gunfire, and despite the efforts of investigators, the case remains unsolved.
