In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Buffalo, New York, the city recorded its first homicide of the year. Just after 1 a.m. on January 19, 2013, 42-year-old Christopher Cotton, a male pharmaceutical technician and father of three, was found deceased in the driver's seat of a vehicle near the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Castle Place. He had been killed by gunfire. The doors to the car were locked, and all the windows were up when his body was discovered.
